Report an Incident

To report an emergency – dial 9-1-1 and be prepared to:

 

 1 – Tell them what your emergency is and where you are.

 2 - Answer the call-taker’s questions. This will assist them in getting you help as

      quickly as possible, while keeping responders safe (some questions may seem

      unnecessary, but they are important).

 3 – Provide your contact information.

 4 - Follow instructions given to you by dispatch personnel, for your safety and the

      safety of others.

 

Emergencies include, but are not limited to; Crimes in progress or that just happened  

Someone who is sick or injured; Crime or event that may result in a person becoming injured or property being damaged.  

 

If you are not sure, dial 9-1-1.  Dispatch personnel will direct you.

 

       

To report a past crime or a non-emergency situation or to ask a question, call 892-2525 and be prepared to:

 

 1-Tell the call-taker the nature of your complaint or what you are reporting.

 2- The location and time that it happened.

 3- Answer the call-taker’s questions as completely as you can

 4- Provide your contact information.

 

 

 

To report a stray animal, call 892-2525 and be prepared to:

 

1- Describe the type of animal you are reporting. i.e. dog, cat, deer…

2- The current or most recent location you saw the animal.

3- Tell the call taker if the animal appears sick or injured, or is a hazard

4- Provide your contact information.

5- Follow instructions of dispatch personnel when provided.

 

 As a general rule, the Animal Control Officer handles calls involving domestic animals.  Calls involving wildlife may be referred to the warden service or other agency.
