To the Citizens and Visitors of Windham,
Thank you for your understanding as we all are learning to establish the best procedures for transacting business with the Town of Windham.
The Town has taken steps to have better social distancing during this COVID-19 time for the protection of residents and staff. As of today, the Town will be implementing these additional measures through April 1st. The Town offices will be open for business by appointment only during this period. Our website provides the ability to transact essentially all of our core services. Those services that are not listed on our website can be accomplished by appointment. Additionally, staff is prepared to assist you in guiding you through the website on-line solutions.
To make an appointment please be prepared to answer these questions prior to a visit.
- Have you traveled outside Maine in the last 30 days? If so, where?
- Was your travel to or from a confirmed hot area (Level 3 – CDC)?
- Are you experiencing any of these symptoms?
- Cough, Fever, Chills, Difficulty Breathing, Shortness of Breath or Sore Throat?
Concerning Tax Year 19/20 tax payments which are due April 1, 2020, there is an extension to June 1, 2020 for payment. Interest will be waived during this period. A new deposit box will be installed at Town Hall within a week for residents to drop of payments, day or night. Payments may also be mailed. We are exploring credit/debit payments as well.
The Town services at all levels will continue, with some modifications, while others are postponed. Please see the website (www.windhammaine.us) or call that department for further information concerning your questions.
Again, I thank you for your patience and support during these challenges with COVID-19.
May God bless you and keep you safe.
Barry Tibbetts
Town Manager
